What your prescribing doctor should know about Abciximab

Tell your physician if you have experienced any of these conditions for Abciximab:
  • Previous stroke
  • An unusual or abnormal reaction to abciximab, mouse or human proteins, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
  • Bleeding disorders or blood problems
  • Brain tumor or aneurysm
  • Breastfeeding
  • High blood pressure
  • Taking a blood thinner such as Coumadin or any medicines that affect platelets such as aspirin, ticlopidine or clopidogrel
  • Recent injury or surgery
  • Weight of under 165 pounds
  • Stomach ulcers

If you are pregnant, breast feeding or currently trying to become pregnant, make sure your doctor is aware of your maternal condition; as Abciximab may not be recommended for certain situations.
